我知道这可能听起来太明显了。

但我面试过太多人,他们似乎没有准备好给你留下深刻印象或者没有全力以赴去做这件事情。

他们太被动了。
They'retoopassive.
他们没有告诉你自己的特长或独特之处,或者根本不清楚如何做到突出自我。

看起来就像他们希望别人能主动发现或者注意到他们有多棒,然后选择他们。

但是你需要做好准备进入面试状态,让别人相信你对他们的工作和公司来说是多么优秀的人才。

很多人都会犯的错误就是过于关注自己想要知道的内容,而忽视了面试官想要了解的。

没错,当你在进行工作面试的时候,你很想去了解和评估这家公司和工作机会,包括其工作范围、职业发展途径、薪资福利、老板背景等等。
Yes,whenyougoforajobinterview,you'retryingtounderstandandassesstheopportunityandcompanytothejobscope,careerdevelopmentpath,salaryandbenefits,backgroundofthebossetc.
但是,放轻松。
Butjustrelax.
许多应聘者都太重视这些而不是想着如何打动面试官。
Manycandidatespaywaytoomuchattentiontotheseandnotenoughonimpressingtheinterviewer.
所以就会发生这样的情况。
Sowhathappensisthis.
在第一次面试时,他们有太多的问题和顾虑,所以想花时间和精力去了解更多。
Inthefirstinterview,they'vegotallthesequestionsandconcernsabouttheopportunity,sospendtheirtimeandefforttryingtofindoutmore.
但是在面试的过程中,他们才开始意识到这是一个很好的机会,然后告诉我们「他们想继续下去」。

但你猜怎么着?

雇主回来对我们说「对不起我不感兴趣,应聘者并没有给我们留下深刻印象,也不会给这些应聘者更多机会。」

确实,你想知道的那些都是合理的,但关键在时机。

在面试前期,你的首要任务是让他们觉得你是我们想要的人。
Earlyinthejobinterviewprocessyourfirstpriorityistogetthemtothinkyou'retheonetheywantsRight.
我拿打扑克牌做个比喻。

你想成为那个握着王牌,决定要不要出牌,拒绝或接受机会的人。
Youalwayswanttobetheoneholdingthewinninghand,decidingwhethertoplayornottoplaytorejectoraccepttheiropportunity.
那就要先打动他们,稍后再去提问。

相信我,你会有机会知道你想了解的在做决定之前也可以解决顾虑,但一定要先通过第一轮面试。

我不是说在你的工作面试中要完全使用推销的方法,这对你的面试官来说并不是特别适用。

但是,你的第一个也是最重要的目标就是把自己推销给面试官。

实际上,我从来没有告诉大家,潜在雇主比你更重要。

他们可能更厉害更有名,他们可以拒绝你但你也可以拒绝他们

然而,在求职面试开始的时候,他们占据制高点。

这意味着通常只有一个职位,但他们正在考虑许多求职者。

一个雇主可能会看几十份简历,但可能只面试几个应聘者。

这一点很重要,因为我也遇到过许多求职者,他们把面试变得无比复杂

但实际上,面试是一个非常直接的事情。

他们只是想要做出好的招聘决定寻找一个适合他们公司和机会的好职员

你跟雇主有着同样的目标。

你也很专业和真诚。

你也想做出好的工作决定,寻找一个适合自己的公司和工作机会

我所指的过程是获得所需信息去更好地理解彼此

许多人过度紧张,在面试中表现不佳,是因为他们会想太多。

雇主会问什么呢?
Whatanemployerwillaskthem?
我是指,求职者们总是会问我,他们会问我什么样的问题?
Imeancandidatesarealwaysaskingmewhatkindofquestionsaretheygoingtoaskthem?
他们这么问这也很合理。
Actuallythat'sreasonableright.
但是我告诉求职者们,每一个招聘经理在面试时都会有自己最喜欢的问题以及不同的强调点,所以我也没办法确切地告诉你他们会问些什么。

所以不要试图小看他们。

如果你想要对他们卖关子,或者回答的不够真诚,他们都能分辨出来。

相反,你应该注意当下,面试官会问你什么。

再说一遍,工作面试是一个非常直接的事情,所以认真倾听然后回答他们想要知道的就可以了。

每个招聘经理和雇主都有着相同的目标。

他们想要找到一个适合他们的职位工作机会和公司的优秀求职者。

当然,这取决于你的经验和能力到底有多适合面试的职位,但这也包括你是什么样的人。
Ofcoursethisstartswithhowgoodyourexperienceandcapabilitiesfittheroleyou'reinterviewingfortoperformitwell,butitalsoincludesthetypeofpersonyouare.
例如,你的动力来源、你的个性和优秀品质、你的职业兴趣和职业目标以及这些与公司文化和价值观、业务方法和管理风格的契合程度。
